简介

My research interest focused on the correlation between properties and structure of functional nanomaterials at the atomic scale. I have expertise of cutting-edge aberration-corrected imaging and spectroscopy techniques in (scanning) transmission electron microscope (TEM) and first principle calculations such as density functional theory (DFT), and combine both of these two techniques synergistically in my research. The atomic imaging and spectroscopy provide the structure, chemistry, bonding and physical properties of materials at the atomic scale, which are further explained by the atomic DFT calculations. Insights from the study are applied to guide material design and to explore new applications. Material systems of particular interest include 2D materials, battery materials, and carbon based nanomaterials.
